A fascinating look back at the history of this small mill town and the people who made it a wonderful place for a young person to grow up. I grew up there as a young child so for me it was a great source of information and reminder of the past. For a student of history, it is an example of what happened and is continuing to happen to manufacturing in this country. I found a great deal of information about Marshall Fields and the role they played in shaping this town. The quality of the pictures was less than I would have liked, but I am not sure what they were working with as far as the originals. Recommend for anyone interested in the history of this small mill town. Thank you to the authors for saving this information and sharing it with us.Product details

Fieldale Virginia eBook Thomas Perry Traci Petty Reviews
Another must for Fieldale natives. Lots of pics you will enjoy if you lived or worked there.
I was very disappointed in the quality of photo reproduction in this book. They appear to be computer scans and so blurry they look like they were taken underwater. The cover gives the appearance of another of the high-quality Arcadia books, but don't be fooled. As for content, I expected a much more research-based product.
This paperback is a very informative work of the history of Fieldale, Va. There are a few errors in the Table of contents that don't match the page number indicated but if you know Fieldale then this is not a problem at all. Very interesting reading and wonderful historic pictures of the town I live in. Thank You. WAW
